As somebody who has struggled with depression and anxieties most of her life, I find it important to share what has helped me - and what might be able to help you.
Diet, supplements, exercise, and also plant medicines have played a huge role in my healing process. I stopped feeling like depression is something I have to fight, it has it's place. But I also believe now that the natural human state of mind is peaceful and blissful, once it is in it's natural balance.
My mother is highly depressed, and that alone has an impact on somebody. If as a child you grow up surrounded by sadness, fears, worries, and isolation, what is to be expected when you grow up?
But I also feel that genetics play a role too, which explains why some people are so resilient to depression, despite similar harsh conditions. I have explored my genetics and indeed it seems I am more prone to depression simply due to the fact that my brain chemistry can be more easily off balance.
Over time I have tried many different ways to cope with my depression. If some of my research can help others, I am happy.
